Part of your child's homework is to read for twenty minutes a night. Making a commitment to read together for twenty minutes a night is the best way to help your child grow as a reader. Your child is currently enrolled in the Thunder Reading Challenge. Their reading log is due on the first school day of the new month.

Practice having your child identify coins
Have your child count to 100 by ones and tens Practice addition and subtraction within ten Practice writing numerals correctly Practice counting on from a given number. For example: 13... 14, 15, 16. Have your child keep a journal. Encourage your child to sound out what it is that they want to write. Discuss with your child how they should start with an uppercase letter, space between their words, and end their sentence with an ending mark. Practice handwriting making sure that your child forms each letter correctly and starts their pencil in the correct spot. |
